Honor Parade

Deadlines - Photo and Resume:  April 5, 2002

AKC Entry Closes:  May 1, 2002

 

A favorite event of the National Specialty, the Honor Parade will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, on the Waterfront Courtyard of the host hotel following the Salmon Bake.  This is a non-competitive event that celebrates those dogs that have contributed to the breed and have enriched their owners’ lives.  Each Honored Tervuren is paraded individually as their resume is read aloud.  The photograph and resume of each dog entered will be published in the catalog. 

 To enter, you must fill out an AKC entry form provided in the premium list and mail it to the Show Superintendent with your entry fee.  You must also mail the following information to the Honors Parade

  v         A photograph of the dog

 v         The dog’s birth date

   v          Registered name and titles

   v          Registered names and titles of the sire and dam

   v          Names of the owner(s) and the breeder(s)

   v          A brief statement of how the dog qualifies for the Honor Parade per the

                ABTC Guidelines listed below and in the premium list.

   v          A short history of the dog in 175 words or less.  The Chair reserves the

                right to edit material submitted.

 

According to recently modified ABTC guidelines, the Honor Parade is open to any Belgian Tervuren not entered in any regular or non-regular (including Veterans) Conformation classes at this show.  Dogs may be entered in Veterans Sweepstakes and/or Performance events.  Each entrant must also meet at least one of the following ABTC qualifications:

1          Has a Championship title plus at least two AKC obedience, tracking,     
            herding,  or agility titles.

2          Has placed at least once in the Herding/Working Group.

3          Has earned a BAR.

4          Has been a previous BOB or BOS winner at an ABTC National Specialty.

5          Has won a High in Trial award.

6           Has an OTCH, HCH, CT, or MACH title.

7          Any Tervuren at least eight (8) years of age on the day of the Honor Parade and has at least one AKC title or BAR award.

8          Show Secretary, Show Chairperson, and any Specialty Judge who will have completed their Specialty assignment, may enter a dog in the Honor Parade as long as the dog meets one of the above requirements.
